About

Mia Dunn is a half-Japanese half-American visual artist based in NYC. She was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, before moving to the United States at the age of 16. Her vibrant painting style draws from the rich traditions of Japanese art and the dynamic energy of contemporary techniques. Through her work, Mia explores the fluid nature of identity, reflecting on how different environments shape and transform who we are. She works primarily with oils and acrylics, and also incorporates upcycled yarns into her textured wall hangings. A 2021 graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Mia has been dedicated to her art practice ever since, creating pieces that merge cultural heritage with modern expression.
